This was a re-read. Plenty of funny anecdotes about married life, friendship and cluplehood in general. I clearly want to like Paul Reiser’s books but I clearly don’t. All in all, I did feel the need to analyze my own relationship in the end, and so I guess the book did have some impact on me.

Reiser is a favorite if only because his role in my favorite movie. InReiser played a dramatic role as a man desperate to locate his biological mother, after learning he has a serious illness, in the British TV film My Beautiful Son. For example, my wife likes to pack suitcases, I like to unpack them.

I reread this over the weekend after running across it in a used bookstore recently. I’d have been a teenager when I bought this, and hadn’t gotten around to reading it.
